The SHIMANO DURA-ACE PD-R9300 is SHIMANO’s flagship road racing pedal, engineered for riders who want maximum stability, efficient power transfer and smooth rotation with every pedal stroke.

Built around the latest SPD-SLR interface, the PD-R9300 features an ultra-wide platform and ultra-low stack height to create a more direct connection between shoe, cleat and pedal. The reduced distance between the foot and axle improves stability and helps transfer power efficiently, particularly when riding at race intensity.

An integrated stainless steel contact plate increases interface stiffness and durability, while the injection-moulded carbon-composite body keeps weight low without compromising the large, supportive platform.

Inside, the PD-R9300 uses a heat-treated axle and refined bearing surfaces with wide bearings designed to distribute loads more evenly. SHIMANO claims an 11% increase in stiffness and a 53% reduction in rotational resistance compared with the previous-generation PD-R8200.

The result is a pedal designed to disappear beneath you — stable under maximum load, smooth through every rotation and built for pure road racing performance.

SPD-SLR: Engineered as One System

  • Compatible cleat: SPD-SLR (Red, Blue, Yellow, Grey)
  • Cleat stack height reduction: 2.3mm versus previous SPD-SL cleat
  • Cleat engagement angle: 10.5° (down from 15.5° on previous SPD-SL)
  • Cleat weight reduction: Up to 25% lighter than outgoing SPD-SL

SHIMANO designed SPD-SLR shoes, cleats and pedals as a complete system to create a more direct connection between rider and bike. The redesigned cleat-to-pedal interface reduces unnecessary movement while improving stability, efficiency and confidence.

2.3 mm lower stack height brings the foot closer to the pedal axle, enhancing stability, power transfer and control. A wider catch zone and narrower 10.5° engagement angle, compared with 15.5° for SPD-SL, provide faster, more natural engagement when accelerating, restarting or sprinting.

The redesigned SPD-SLR cleats are also up to 25% lighter than their SPD-SL equivalents, while high-contrast alignment markings make setup and cleat positioning easier and more repeatable.
